The Blessings of God Pt. 2

This week has been full of blessings & reminders of God's blessings. I listed some in Pt. 1. Here are some more from this week.

That blessing (of my children - see the last blessing in Part 1) was also brought to light in discussing life issues with our oldest two boys. Last night we watched an episode of NCIS from season one with them (mostly the oldest). We had a great discussion around entertainment, world views, homosexuality, how the church is viewed by the entertainment industry, and, finally, how all of this in entertainment is both a mirror of and an impact on our culture.

Then I was blessed today with time with my #3 son looking at cars. I haven't had any boys who were terribly interested in cars as anything more than tools to get around. #3 and I spent around 30-45 min. looking at cars and boats at a used car lot. It was good just to be with him and listen to him talk about his likes and dislikes regarding the different vehicles.

We do have a financial need, and - until this blog post - we haven't mentioned it to anyone (that I know of). Still, God laid it on somebody's heart that we not only needed encouraging, but that we needed some economic encouragement. Today we received a significant amount that really helped us. We were reminded that God is always watching out for us through His people, our church family (and beyond).

Finally, because of my wife's amazing ability to manage our money, we were able to purchase a family pass to the aquatic center this past spring. It's already paid for itself. Today it paid for itself again because we were able to do something with our youngest two where I couldn't afford to pay any entry fees to anything we would like to do, or even gas to go somewhere out of town. But we were able to do this, and it was fun just to be there with them and hear them laugh... when I wasn't under water with them standing on my back. They enjoy using me as an underwater surfboard.

Thank you, God, for reminding us of the blessings you have given us. We are truly blessed.
