Another Quote from Sanders
I don't have time to expand on this quote, but I wanted to get it out there.
Lord, I'm not there yet, but I want to be.
Earlier Mr. Sanders talked about the fact that becoming mature in Christ is a process, a learning over time, taught in the trials of life. Even Paul said he had learned over time to be content (Phil. 4:11-12). I think I've still got a lot to learn, which does not bode well, as I'm quite sure he's right - it's going to require difficulties, struggles, and hardships, which are never any fun. Yet, I don't want to approach them with fear or anger, but instead with joy that my God trusts me enough, and loves me enough, to lead me into and through them so that I can learn dependence on Him. Please, God, help me to have that attitude as I'm going through the fire. Please help Shari and I together to have that attitude, and teach that attitude to our boys rather than an attitude of complaining and discontent.
"[Paul] did not run away from the difficult circumstance but embraced it and made it tributary to his spiritual growth. Because he was so dependent on Christ, he could be independent of circumstances."
