Jr. High Worship
This is really about what God has done through Shari and Julie's care. Last weekend Shari and Julie (one of our jr. high staff)took seven girls to a purity retreat put on by our local Crisis Pregnancy group. It turns out that all the staff but ours were from Clark Fork City Church, so the worship was fantastic and passionate. In addition, the speakers did an excellent job of communicating (except for one on Sat. night), especially one young lady who spoke on how to spend productive time with God (rather than just religious time). The end result of the weekend was one young lady, who has been struggling to determine whether she truly wants to follow Christ, decided that this was the weekend. Two other girls recommitted their lives to Him. In addition, most of the girls seemed to finally grasp the idea that worship was about... well, worship, not just singing songs. So, we come to last night's jr. high youth group time. The atmosphere (even with two boys), was significantly different than weeks past. The girls truly worshiped God. Shari said you could see it in their faces. It wasn't that they were suddenly loud, or clapping (they didn't), but they were passionate within their personalities. You could sense the difference, too, in how they paid attention and asked questions that were relevant to the topic rather than distracting. It was an amazing gift, and I look forward to seeing what God does in their hearts through Dare2Share in two weeks. Gotta go. God's working in the high schoolers, too, and tonight's a night of ministry.
