Shari update

This was an e-mail I sent out this evening to our prayer team.

Praying Friends,

Shari’s surgery ended up being around 3:15 this afternoon. It took less than an hour, and everything went perfectly. The doctor found some lesions on the gall bladder, making another indication to him that the gall bladder is shot and needed removed. Shari came home around 9:00pm tonight, and went straight to bed. This was one of those times where I think she was truly asleep before her head hit the pillow. Other than feeling sore in the expected places after such a surgery, she is doing quite well. She’s already eaten a light dinner (chicken noodle soup), and she’s been able to take pain meds. The biggest deal: She no longer feels the intense pain just below her ribs that she’s been feeling for over two weeks (and the dull, occasional pain she’s been feeling since January). We praise God for science, medicine, and the wisdom he’s given doctors to make this surgery. Thank you so much for your prayers over Shari, especially these past two weeks. Thanks, too, to God for those of you who gave meals this past week so that we could focus on helping Shari get the medicine she needs. God continues to give us good gifts in a variety of ways. We will continue to keep you posted.
