Iraq from a different perspective

Michael Yon has been featured in many interviews and articles, especially on Fox, but not nearly enough, in my opinion. He's one of the best reporters out there because he's just that - out there. He lives and operates with both British and American forces. He's highly respected and liked by the soldiers for a variety of reasons - he's a former Special Forces soldier himself, he's independent (not working for a mainstream media outlet), and he gives all the news, good or bad, without spinning it. So, I try to keep up on what he's reporting, though the articles are significantly longer than a typical newspaper or tv update. It's well worth it, though, to get the real news about what's happening in Iraq - and it's nowhere near as bad as many politicians would like people to believe. Of course, with my sister over there, I'm especially wanting real news. I would encourage readers of this blog to check him out. Here are his latest two dispatches about what's happening as an offshoot of the much publicized Operation Arrowhead Ripper: "Bless the Beasts and Children" and "Update on Bless the Beasts..." WARNING: Contains graphic pictures of dead bodies. Like I said, he doesn't pull punches, but it's appropriate. It's war!

BTW - Michael isn't a Christian writer, so there are occasional uses of profanity. However, they're rare, and generally quotes. He's very professional.
