Out my bedroom window
The back yard is a sheet of ice, making for ground for the boys to play on. Matthew has been spending the past several minutes riding his skateboard down the ice. It's so much fun to watch him just laugh and try new things. Michael is being even more adventurous - he's trying to play football on this stuff. It makes me think of the Snow Bowl a long time ago.
Now they've come inside and shown me the cold - cold hands on my nice warm neck. Twerp kids. I love them. Their innocent and playful hearts are so refreshing in the midst of all the pressures of life.
In the meantime, I look across the river and see a slight dusting of snow on the Sapphires... which is probably actually ice. Earlier our U.S. Air Force was kind enough to send a rather large cargo plane across my field of view... about 1000 feet above my back yard, or whatever low altitude they were flying at. It didn't feel like I had to look to far up out the window. That was cool for the boys.
Life is hard, but this view is nice. This weekend is our Winter Retreat and I have two more messages to prep before then. I'd better get back to work before the youngest wakes up. Shari's shopping.
