A Child Shall Lead Them

Today I had the opportunity to spend an hour with Joseph*. We had a great time talking about life issues, including football, friends, and family issues. During my time there, I got to meet many of his siblings, and Samson* is his 10 year old brother. Since he was there, and Joseph was comfortable, I visited with both of them, getting to know Samson in the process. Neither Samson nor Joseph know Jesus, though they've had some church experience. The end result is that I invited Samson to AWANA, and he came. Michael pretty much took it from there. He made sure that Samson felt welcome by telling him all about what to expect when we arrived. Michael introduced him to friends all around, especially Pastor Don. When Michael discovered Samson didn't have a Bible, Michael took some of his AWANA bucks and bought him one. Michael asked questions, and even invited Samson to sing along with the radio while they were waiting for us in the car. In short, Michael, in the best ways he knew how, worked to plant a seed in Samson's heart, and be, not just a good friend, but a Christ-like friend to Samson, even putting his "money" where his mouth is. I'm proud of my son, and excited about the work of God going on in his heart.
