One more for today.

I once read a sci-fi short story about a pilot traveling on a commercial flight between planets. There were a half-dozen or so passengers besides himself, plus the pilot. I don't remember the details, but the important thing is that something happened to the pilot, and something happened to his ship and cargo that created an emergency situation. The passenger/pilot had to become the actual pilot and learn how to fly this space ship - and land it - before they came out of hyperspace. He tried many mock landings, but crashed each time. Finally he had to make the cockpit his. He broke out some paint (conveniently the right colors), moved some knobs around, and made it his, leading to a perfect landing in just a nick of time.

The point: I am currently trying to minister out of another man's cockpit. In fact, I have no office. I'm currently writing this in my bedroom. The church has no offices for any pastors - they all work out of their homes. I don't have any of my normal surroundings, from my own office to my books to even my palm pilot (which was YD's, so I had to leave it there). Thankfully, I at least have a computer, so that helps. Still, w/o an office, I am struggling to focus - what do I need to do next? What should I do until students get out of school? Where did I put their contact information? Etc. For those who have never used an office, this may seem like a minor thing. It is, but, added to the fact that I'm still adjusting to my new home and community, it is a bit disconcerting. I'll get over it (and will eventually get an office, too), but, for now, prayer that God would help me to focus would be appreciated.
