God is Faithful
"My hope lies in your love for me.
In your faithfulness I can see
Traces of Heaven.
In subtle kindness, Lord
You keep lovingly showing me
Traces of Heaven."
Brian Duncan
"Traces of Heaven" off his Slow Revival CD
I'm working around the house, listening to my computer play random music. This is the third song with this theme that God is faithful. While I don't even remember the other songs, God is slowly getting through to me that He's wanting to encourage me this morning. He is faithful, even when He doesn't seem like it. Afterall, even if life is difficult, and God doesn't do things the way we want Him to, "Where else can we go? You alone have the words of eternal life."
Is life difficult right now. Not really, but there have been a few small things that God hasn't done the way I'd like Him to; a few prayers for healing that God hasn't seemed to even listen to, based on the response. (Mind you, to those who are sick/dying, those prayers are a big deal.) Why? I don't know. None the less, I cling to what I know is true: God is faithful, and He is my/our Hope. So, even when He doesn't answer the way I want Him to, or is even silent, I will cling to Him. He's my hope. He's my strong tower in the storm. He's my faithful friend, Father, and the Warrior at my side.

Hey, brother! Bryan Duncan has always been one of my favorite CCM artists. The first time I heard the following BD song I was driving downtown Moses Lake. I started crying and had to pull over. I love how the song ends!
Hope Of The Brokenhearted
Where does real love begin?
Can it really last forever?
Keep searchin' through this fire within,
Seeking without any answers.
All the simple lines I've heard before
Doesn't make it any easier to find.
And I learned about love on the street
And they told me that love is a game
Made of broken rules.
But I know there's a love that's complete,
Where there's nothing missing inside:
The Hope of the Brokenhearted,
Longing for love again.
What is all that love requires?
Will it finally bring contentment?
Or a sacrifice of my desires,
To love as just a humble servant?
Every kind of love I've fallen for
Leaves my crying out for something more
In the end.
And I learned about love on the street
From the cruel and heartless,
Where love is a game of deceit played by selfish fools, yeah.
But I know there's a love that's complete
Where there's nothing ugly to hide:
The Hope of the Brokenhearted,
Longing for love again.
The Hope of the Brokenhearted,
Longing for love again.
Here's where real love begins:
Jesus gave His life for sinners.
In the first of ten commands
Demonstrate love to beginners.
He gave His love like no one else before,
And I owe everything I am and more to Him.
Much love! You're in my prayers.
